BCP Speaker

The functions of the Speaker is to preside over the BCP-National Assembly, BCP Joint Sitting and enforce its  rules for the orderly conduct of the proceedings, preserve dignity and decorum in the hall and maintain discipline amongst the members and shall sign resolutions, recommendations and other decisions passed by the BCP.

First BCP (2015-2017)

  1. Tsheten Dorji (2015-2017)

Mr. Tsheten Dorji from Draagten_Langthil Demkhong is the First Speaker of the First Bhutan Children’s   Parliament. He was elected from amongst the Members of the BCP-NA through a secret ballot in the first sitting of the BCP-NA on January 1, 2016.

He was conferred the Tashi Khadar by the Chief Election Commissioner in the Great Fourth Auditorium at the Democracy House.


 

BCP Deputy Speaker

The Dy. Speaker shall perform the duties of the Speaker and also preside over the sittings during the period of the Speaker absence and shall enjoy the same powers of the Speaker. Every such act performed by him/her shall have the same effect and validity as if the Speaker had performed the act. Upon the unanimity decision with the Speaker the Dy. Speaker shall chair the parliament session for at least once in every session.

First BCP (2015-2017)

  1. Karma Choki (2015-2016)

Karma Choki from Nysho_Saephu Demkhong was elected as Deputy Speaker. She was elected from amongst the Members of the BCP-NA through a secret ballot in the first  sitting of the BCP-NA on January 1, 2016.

She was conferred the Tashi Khadar by the Chief Election Commissioner in the Great Fourth Auditorium at the Democracy House.

2. Tshering Samdrup (2016-2017)

Mr. Tshering Samdrup from Drametse_Ngatshang Demkhong, Monggar was conferred the Tashi Khadar by the Chief Election Commissioner as a Deputy Speaker during the 2nd session of BCP in the Great Fourth Auditorium at the Democracy House.
